How It Works

Eastside FC parents and guardians may apply to serve as their team’s volunteer photographer during the Eastside FC Cup. Each team may have one approved photographer.

Professional photography experience is not required, but applicants should be comfortable photographing soccer or another live sport and able to work independently, safely and without disrupting the game.

The application asks about your photography experience, equipment and background.

What the Credential Provides

Approved photographers receive limited access to designated areas that are not generally available to spectators, including:

Approved end-line photography positions during matches
Limited access near the Eastside FC bench area before and after games
Limited postgame field access for celebrations and team moments
Designated access during Champions and Finalists presentations

The credential is issued to one individual, is non-transferable and must be visible whenever restricted access is being used.

During Matches

Photographers may work from designated end-line areas outside the width of the penalty area.

Photographers should remain quiet and unobtrusive at all times. While in credentialed areas, do not cheer, coach, talk to players, interact with referees or otherwise become part of the match environment.

Photographers may move behind the goal only as a pass-through area and only when play is stopped or safely at the opposite end of the field. Do not stop behind the goal to photograph.

Photographers may not:

Enter the field of play during a match
Stand directly behind the goal
Enter either team’s technical area during play
Stand behind, beside or between team benches
Block spectators, entrances, emergency routes or tournament staff
Enter referee, medical or tournament operations areas
Transfer the credential to another person
Solicit families or offer paid photography services at the tournament
Use drones or aerial recording equipment

Before and After Games

Before kickoff, photographers may have limited access near their own team’s bench area for warmups, huddles and other pregame moments.

Photographers must leave the technical area before the match begins.

After the final whistle, photographers may photograph postgame celebrations and team moments when it is safe and appropriate to do so. Do not interfere with coaches, referees, players or tournament procedures.

Champions and Finalists

If your Eastside FC team reaches a Champions or Finalists presentation, you may receive access to the designated awards-photo area.

Follow tournament staff direction, enter only when your team is being recognized, avoid blocking official photographers and exit promptly when finished.

Official tournament photographers receive priority positioning.

Sharing Your Photos

This is a volunteer photography program designed to help Eastside FC document and share the tournament.

Approved photographers are asked to submit a curated set of 30 edited photos:

20 photos of Eastside FC players, coaches, teams or tournament moments
10 positive photos featuring visiting players, coaches or teams

We are looking for your strongest edited images, not a complete game gallery.

Photos may be uploaded after each tournament day or together after the event. Approved photographers will receive a dedicated upload link and submission instructions.

Eastside FC Cup Volunteer Photography Credential Agreement

By applying for, accepting or using an Eastside FC Cup photography credential, I agree to the following:

Credential Use

The credential is issued only to me, is non-transferable and may be used only while photographing on behalf of my approved Eastside FC team.

The credential provides limited access to designated photography areas. It does not provide unrestricted field or tournament access and does not override venue rules, referee authority or instructions from Eastside FC or tournament staff.

Eastside FC may limit, suspend or revoke my credential at any time for safety, conduct, operational or policy reasons.

Conduct

I agree to:

Remain only in approved photography areas
Follow all instructions from Eastside FC, tournament and venue personnel
Remain quiet and unobtrusive while using credentialed access
Avoid interfering with players, coaches, referees, spectators or tournament operations
Keep equipment safely positioned and under my control

I will not enter restricted areas, interfere with play, use drones, solicit families, provide paid photography services at the tournament, transfer my credential or use it to gain access for another person.

Responsible Photography

I will use reasonable judgment when photographing youth athletes and will not knowingly photograph or publish content from private areas or content that is humiliating, exploitative, unsafe or highly sensitive.

I will comply with reasonable Eastside FC requests to stop photographing a person, activity or location, or to remove content when necessary for safety, privacy or safeguarding purposes.

Photos Provided to Eastside FC

As part of receiving the credential, I agree to provide the required curated tournament photographs to Eastside FC at no charge.

I retain ownership of my photographs. By submitting them, I grant Eastside FC a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, crop, resize, edit and adapt the images for Eastside FC and Eastside FC Cup purposes, including websites, social media, email, advertising, fundraising, print materials and promotional communications.

I understand that photographer credit may be provided when practical but is not guaranteed, and no additional compensation or royalties will be owed.

I represent that I created the submitted photographs or otherwise have the legal right to provide them.

Commercial Use

I will not use credentialed access to:

Sell or commercially license tournament photographs
Advertise or solicit photography services
Imply endorsement by Eastside FC
Use Eastside FC or tournament branding for an unauthorized commercial purpose
Use tournament images for facial recognition, biometric databases or artificial-intelligence training

Assumption of Risk and Release

I understand that photographing near soccer matches involves risks, including being struck by a ball, player or equipment; slips, trips and falls; weather; crowds; uneven surfaces; theft; property damage; and other risks associated with a live sporting event.

I knowingly and voluntarily assume these risks.

To the fullest extent permitted by Washington law, I release Eastside FC, the Eastside FC Cup, participating clubs, sponsors, venue operators and their respective employees, coaches, volunteers, contractors and representatives from claims arising from my participation, presence, equipment or use of the credential, including claims arising from ordinary negligence.

This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct or other liability that cannot legally be waived.

Responsibility for My Conduct

I am responsible for my own actions, equipment and use of tournament content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree to indemnify the released parties from third-party claims arising from my violation of this Agreement, unlawful or negligent conduct, misuse of tournament content or infringement of another person’s legal rights.

Enforcement

Eastside FC may revoke my credential and remove me from restricted areas if I violate this Agreement or create a safety, privacy, operational or conduct concern. A violation may also affect eligibility for future Eastside FC photography credentials.

Acceptance

This Agreement is governed by Washington law.

By checking the acceptance box, electronically signing, submitting my application, accepting the credential or using credentialed access, I confirm that:

I have read and agree to this Agreement.
I am at least 18 years old.
I have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.
