Some players stand out for their skill. Others for their character. Riley Rountree shines for both.
When she joined Eastside's G10 ECNL team years ago (formerly G10 Red), Riley quickly became a player everyone noticed—and admired—for her blistering speed, refined skills, and genuine kindness. Countless hours at Preston and other local fields have been spent dribbling, training, and perfecting every touch. Her dedication has been the quiet force behind every success, and her ever-present smile is as much a trademark as her game.
Riley’s accomplishments on the field are truly remarkable:
Called up to the Team USA Girls National Team 6 times
Named to the ECNL U15 All-American Team
Named ECNL Northwest Conference U15 Player of the Year
Earned 2025 ECNL Northwest All-Conference First-Team Honors
Named to 2025 ECNL Conference Cup Best XI Team
Member of the ODP National Select Team 2 Times (2023, 2024)
The Rountree family is a familiar, joyful presence at Preston. Riley’s three younger siblings often kick a ball on the sidelines, while her parents, Thomas and Rekeda, bring warmth to everyone they meet. Thomas says, “Riley has worked incredibly hard to reach this level, and we couldn't be prouder. It's truly a testament to her faith and perseverance, and we're so grateful to God for all of her amazing accomplishments.”
Despite her accolades, Riley remains soft-spoken and humble. Her teammate, Lauren Standfield, shared, “Riley is an incredibly talented player, but her talent isn’t the only thing that stands out—it’s the way she carries herself. She stays humble, positive, and shines God’s light. She is the hardest worker I know and deserves every accolade.”
Riley's kindness, leadership, and tireless work ethic have made her a beloved member of the Eastside FC family.
Her coach, Xinho Prestes, agrees. “What makes Riley so special isn’t just that she’s earned so many awards—it’s the way she’s done it. She’s an incredible competitor, but also one of the most humble, kind, and team-first players you’ll ever meet. Her work ethic inspires everyone around her, and her character makes us all proud to call her part of the Eastside FC family,” said Prestes.
Riley’s G10 ECNL squad has won the ECNL's Northwest Conference three years in a row, and is a top ranked team in the country. They'll compete at several high-profile showcases this season and look to defend their conference title while making another playoff appearance.
