Chance Fry has been a foundational figure in Pacific Northwest soccer, from his days as a young fan in the stands to his standout playing career with the Seattle Sounders, and now as Executive Director of Eastside FC. His journey, influence, and continued dedication to developing youth talent embody everything we value at Eastside FC.

Fry's lifelong connection with the Seattle Sounders began when he was just nine years old, attending their first game in 1974. Inspired by that experience, he dreamed of playing professionally for the team—a dream realized when he was drafted while still in high school. Though his initial stint with the Sounders was short due to the collapse of the NASL, Fry returned in the APSL era and made a significant impact, scoring 30 goals over five seasons and earning 1st Team All-Star honors in 1994. Despite playing for other clubs like the Tulsa Roughnecks and New York Cosmos, Fry always considered Seattle his home and left a lasting legacy within the Sounders organization.

Following his retirement in 1997, Fry transitioned into coaching and player development, influencing the next generation of soccer talent in the Pacific Northwest. He held several roles with the Sounders, including assistant coach and Director of Youth Development, and now serves as Executive Director of Eastside FC, a youth club closely linked to the Sounders Academy. His mentorship helped shape players like Jordan Morris, and he remains dedicated to growing the sport and its values at the grassroots level. Beyond coaching, Fry cherishes his deep-rooted history with the club through memorabilia and traditions, symbolizing the integral role he's played in both the Sounders’ evolution and the broader U.S. soccer landscape.
