About Coach
Tsigab
Tsigab Tesfamariam brings a global perspective and a deep connection to the local game to his coaching. Born in Eritrea and raised in Seattle, he began playing through local youth programs before developing in a highly competitive environment with Seattle United’s ECNL pathway. His journey through the game reflects both resilience and ambition, shaped by diverse playing experiences and a strong foundation in the Pacific Northwest soccer community.
As a player, Tsigab competed at a high level across youth, collegiate, and semi-professional environments. He earned an opportunity with FC Tulsa following an impressive combine performance and went on to play in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), UPSL, and at the collegiate level. These experiences have given him a well-rounded understanding of the demands of the modern game and the pathways available to aspiring players.
Tsigab’s coaching experience spans multiple levels of the game. He has served as an Assistant Coach with Ballard FC (USL2), Head Coach for Mercer Island FC U19, XL U12, and Rainier Beach High School, and has worked with players through Ballard FC Youth Camps and Rising Point futsal. Across each role, he has demonstrated a commitment to player development and a passion for helping athletes reach their potential.
His coaching philosophy centers on training with purpose, developing strong decision-makers, and building technically confident players. He emphasizes discipline, energy, and consistency, creating environments where players are challenged to grow both on and off the field.
Off the field, Tsigab is committed to giving back to the community and mentoring young players. He values time with family, enjoys hiking and picnics, and is grounded in his faith—principles that continue to shape both his life and his approach to coaching.
