About Coach

Quinn

Quinn is a PNW native who has been playing and coaching in Washington for the past 30 years. He played 8 seasons for Eastside FC 90’ Red with coach Dan Strom. Quinn had a successful time with the club, captaining a team that won 3 state championships and finished runners up twice. During this time, he also played for the Washington State ODP team and Issaquah High School. He helped lead Issaquah to the state quarter finals and was the KingCo League MVP as well as 2x All-state selection. In his final youth season, he played on the XF Academy 91’ team which reached the National Championship game for the now defunct US Soccer Development Academy league.

Quinn attended the University of Washington on a soccer scholarship where he played on the team and earned his degree. During this time he also played for the Tacoma Tide of the PDL (USL 2). A knee surgery at age 19 did not heal effectively and forced him to step away from the UW team after two seasons. Quinn switched his focus from playing over to coaching at age 21 and began working at Coerver Coaching NW where he was able to learn from some of the best player development experts about how to develop technical players from a young age. He worked under expert coach TR Stoneback who mentored him in the Coerver method, and trained many of the top players in the area who have since had college careers and some pro.

Quinn holds a USSF C license and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is a respected skills trainer in the area and has been training high level players since 2013. He brings his passion for technical training and individual development to his teams at Eastside FC and works to build each player up to improve the team overall. Quinn loves coaching because he feels he can help players achieve their goals and more importantly, that pursuing excellence in sport is a great way for young people to build  and strengthen foundational life skills. He believes the lessons learned from competing in soccer develop resilience, discipline, responsibility, self confidence, and teamwork, all of which can serve the players well off the field.

When not coaching Quinn loves spending time with his wife, watching soccer, training in his home gym, playing indoor soccer and hanging out with family and friends. He enjoys cooking - especially grilling and BBQing.
