Alieu epitomizes ‘gratitude’ in every aspect of his life. Despite growing up in modest surroundings in Sierra Leone, West Africa, his family wholeheartedly supported his interests in dancing, art and school.

During his childhood, he eagerly anticipated the few hours each day dedicated to playing soccer, which brought him immense joy. Alieu continued to play soccer in Sierra Leone until 2011, after which he seized the opportunity to pursue his dreams in the United States, competing in the American Soccer League (ASL) for the Sierra Delta club.

Following a soccer injury, Alieu transitioned to coaching as a means of staying connected to the sport that had become integral to his life. He began coaching club soccer in Virginia before relocating to Washington state in 2017, joining Bellevue FC.

In his coaching role, Alieu has mentored players ranging in age from x to , finding fulfillment in witnessing their development and deepening understanding of the game. He prioritizes fostering a team culture centered on teamwork, support and kindness as fundamental to success.

Off the pitch, Alieu cherishes spending time with his family, including his girlfriend and seven-year-old son Ziggy, embarking on outdoor adventures, and managing his clothing line – Retro Nation Family.

Alieu boasts numerous coaching certifications and is presently working towards obtaining his USSF C license. Additionally, he holds a sports management and scouting certificate from Sport Management Worldwide.
