Justi Baumgardt Brings Elite Experience to Eastside FC as New Head Coach

Issaquah, WA — Eastside FC is excited to announce the hiring of Justi Baumgardt, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success both as a player and a coach to the club. Justi, a key figure in Seattle's soccer scene will utilize her extensive experience to help shape the next generation of soccer talent at Eastside.
With a stellar playing career that includes state championships, national rankings, and multiple NCAA Final Four appearances, Justi's transition into coaching has been marked by remarkable success. As a coach, she has led high-performance teams to numerous state titles, a Surf Cup Championship, and two ECNL Final Four appearances. She has also mentored players who went on to play at the NCAA level and has trained several Youth National Team players.

"Her depth of experience both as a former player and coach will be invaluable as we continue to build a culture of excellence and player development at the club. Justi’s understanding of the game, her ability to nurture talent, and her passion for developing young athletes will be pivotal in helping our players reach their full potential. Baumgardt's distinguished playing career began at Federal Way High School, where she earned All-South Puget Sound League honors every season. She helped lead her team to two state championships, setting school records for career goals (98) and assists (50). Her excellence on the field continued at the University of Portland, where she was a three-time All-American and led her team to three NCAA Final Fours and one national championship game. She was also a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, training and playing alongside soccer legends like Mia Hamm and Brandi Chastain.
After retiring from playing, Baumgardt transitioned to coaching, where she made a significant impact, earning a reputation as one of the best trainers in the Pacific Northwest. Her coaching philosophy focuses on skill development, creativity, and teamwork, with an emphasis on "possession with purpose."
