G05/06 ECNL RL

Birthplace

Bellevue, WA

Tom Bialek was born and raised in Bellevue Washington, and played his youth soccer for the Newport soccer club. After attending Newport HS, where he won a state championship, Tom went on to study and play soccer at the University of Washington. Tom played seven professional seasons, winning championships on the 95 Seattle Sounders and 97 Seattle Seadogs.

While growing up he always had a ball at his feet, and was fortunate to grow up in a vibrant soccer neighborhood that produced many college and professional players. They allowed Tom to tag along and play, which created the foundation for a lifelong passion for the game. Tom's coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that all the work we do on the soccer field must also help the individual players in other areas of their lives, and long into the future. His definition of team success is having a group of players who consistently give their best effort, have a growth mindset around learning and overcoming adversity, and take pride in contributing to the team’s accomplishments. His coaching career at Eastside FC began in 1997 and Tom renewed his USSF Youth A License in 2017.

Tom has been fortunate to coach teams that have won state cups, regionals, and a national championship 2013. He has also had many very successful teams that did not win a big trophy! In addition to coaching, Tom likes being in the outdoors to ski, hike, bike, and camp. Barcelona is his favorite team, and Messi is always a joy to watch. He is the second youngest of six kids from a close-knit family.
