Josh grew up on Mercer Island, WA where he played for Eastside FC and the Mercer Island High School boys soccer program. Beginning in 2010, Josh’s coaching career has brought him from Washington State to California (2012-2015) and Oregon (2022-2023) in the USA, as well as South Africa (2011), Brazil (2014 + 2016), and Spain (2017-2022) outside of the country.
Josh earned his first coaching license in 2010 and has been pursuing more coaching education ever since - currently he holds his UEFA B license, earned from the Scottish FA in February, 2022. Josh has coached boys and girls at all ages from U-6 thru to U-23, working as a head coach, assistant coach, video analyst and physical trainer. He spent his last two years in Spain working with the U19’s at SD Leioa, who competed against some of Europe's most historic clubs like Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad where he learned a lot about the high technical level of Spanish fútbol.
Josh is trilingual - he can speak English, Spanish and Portuguese (and he wants to learn French next!). Josh is happy to be back after living away from his hometown for over 10 years. He lives in Seattle with his dog Gustavo where you might see them going for a stroll on a sunny day!
