Erin Vaughan brings a wealth of international playing and coaching experience to Eastside FC. A native of Wales, she began playing the game at age 12 and quickly rose through the ranks, joining the Shrewsbury Town senior team at just 16. At 18, she signed with Aston Villa Ladies, where she competed for nine years at the top level of the English women’s game.

On the international stage, Erin represented Wales at both the youth and senior levels, earning 5 youth caps and 19 senior caps. She scored in her senior debut against Switzerland, marking a memorable start to her international career. In 2012, she came to the United States to play in the WPSL with Issaquah Soccer Club, eventually settling in the Seattle area and retiring from playing in 2019.

With more than 20 years of coaching experience, Erin began her coaching journey at just 16 years old, working in after-school programs with the English Football Association. She later spent nine years with Wolverhampton Wanderers Girls Centre of Excellence, coaching across multiple age groups and helping teams achieve success in league and cup competitions.

Since moving to Washington in 2014, Erin has continued to build her coaching career in the Pacific Northwest, developing players at all levels of the game, most recently at Washington Surf. She holds a USSF B License and is actively working toward her A License, along with additional certifications including USSF C, UEFA Level 2, SAQ Level 1, and UEFA Youth Model 1.

Erin is a passionate and loyal coach who emphasizes technical development within a team environment. Her philosophy centers on “possession with a purpose,” encouraging players to play with intention, creativity, and an end goal. She views the game as a powerful teacher of life skills—promoting respect, accountability, sportsmanship, and strong relationships among players, coaches, and the broader community. Her commitment to her players and clubs is rooted in building not only better athletes, but better people.

Outside of soccer, Erin is a dedicated fan of Manchester United and grew up admiring players like David Beckham and Ryan Giggs. She also follows the women’s game closely, with Lucy Bronze among her favorite players. In her free time, Erin enjoys hiking with her dog, Mr. Oden, spending time with family and friends, and catching Premier League matches whenever she can.
