About Coach
Todd
Todd Veenhuizen grew up in the Seattle area, attending Mount Rainier High School in Des Moines, and graduating from Washington State University. He has been a lifelong player, playing collegiately at WSU, and currently still playing within the Greater Seattle Men's League. A memorable moment for him would be playing as a member of the Tacoma Stars reserve team and winning a National Amateur Championship in 1993.
Todd has been coaching for about 30 years and has had some great mentors and opportunities during that time. He is always learning and looks forward to enhancing his knowledge. A quick summary of his experience includes everything from coaching his own daughters when they began to being an Assistant Coach with the Seattle Sounders Women, with most things along the way from youth, high school, college, and EPD. Those experiences have been as both a head and assistant coach, and on both the women’s and men’s side. Todd currently holds a USSF "B" License.
Although the game is different from the beginning to the advanced stages, Todd believes there are some things that are consistent for excellence that he tries to create within the teams he works with—attitude, effort, commitment, and the desire to compete. These are all controllable and also translate beyond the field.
Todd lives in West Seattle with his wife, Donna. They have two daughters, Kate and Ally, both of whom played at Seattle Pacific University and are both Nursing majors. Todd’s favorite teams include Liverpool, the Sounders, and WSU.
