Tariq Walcott is from Silver Spring, Maryland and he moved to Seattle, Washington in 2016 upon completing his undergraduate degree. He started his coaching career in 2012 at West Virginia University, studying Athletic Coaching Education with a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology.
While attending university Tariq played soccer for the Men’s Club team, and helped coach the Women’s Club team as well. He also coached at a local youth soccer club called Mountaineer United SC, where he worked with players at all age groups as an assistant coach and an intern.
Tariq moved to Seattle to work at the coaching company U.K. Elite (now Steel Soccer) as the assistant manager for the U6 program. While working with U.K. Elite Tariq was able to coach players of all ages and abilities, and was also a head coach at Cascade FC during that time.
Coach Tariq moved to Eastside in 2020 to continue his coaching career and advance in his USSF coaching licenses. He is currently a ‘C’ licensed coach. Coach Tariq’s parents are from Jamaica, and his favorite soccer club is Chelsea FC!
