Chris grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii where he started playing soccer the first year it was offered as an organized youth sport in Hawaii. He played his Club ball for Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club and played 4 years of high school soccer. From there, he attended Gonzaga University and played 4 years of college soccer while obtaining his Bachelor of Business Admin degree.
Chris’ coaching journey started in the early 90s as a rec coach with the Cottage Lake Club in the Northshore association. He took a break to get married and start a family and then picked up coaching again when his kids started playing in North Bend with SnVYSA. He started coaching at EFC as an assistant coach in 2012, and in 2015 began coaching his own teams. Along the way, Chris has obtained his USSF D License as well as multiple certificates from the World Football Academy as he continues to learn about teaching the game. As a coach, he has been fortunate to work with some amazing mentors, players, teams and families with a few highlights being Presidents Cup Semi-finalists and Champions as well as Recreational Cup Champions.
He is married to Linda and they have 2 children, Maile and Nick (EFC alum). In his time away from coaching…when he is not watching a small percentage of the games he records on TV…he likes to travel and spend time with family.
