Jason Lichtenberger, former Goalkeeping assistant to Tom Bunnell at Eastside FC and former assistant coach at Issaquah under Bunnell, was promoted to head coach upon Bunnell's retirement earlier this year. He has taken the Issaquah High School varsity girls to the final four in the WIAA 4A State Championships. “I am SO proud of what Jason has accomplished in his first year at the helm," said Tom Bunnell. "He has put so much time and effort at Issaquah with the girls and boys program. There is no doubt in my mind he has reached legendary status at Issaquah. He has been such a valuable piece of the success the program has had. I will be honest, couldn’t have had the success I was fortunate to have over the years without Jason.”

Issaquah, the 6th seed in the state tournament, plays #2 Richland at Sparks Stadium on Friday night. Along with Lichtenberger, Issaquah features a number of All-Kingco stars in Senior defender Lauren Lailey (G03/04 ECNL), Senior defender Avery Crowe (G03/04 ECRL), Sophomore forward Maggie Dutra (G06 ECNL), and sophomore midfielder Ella Witherspoon (G05 ECNL). Good luck to all of our players at the State Tournament!
