Michael Smith born and raised in Bellevue, WA and has been involved in soccer since the young age of six years old. His first paid soccer coaching experience was in high school when I was invited to be part of the camp staff for the John Best Soccer Camp. John Best was the first coach of the original Seattle Sounders. Continued coaching soccer camps with the Seattle Sounders and being around foreign players/coaches helped influence and guide him into coaching youth soccer.

We have one child, Kyler who is an electrical engineer.
