Ellis 

McLoughlin

Ellis was born and raised in Seattle. He played for Crossfire Premier growing up where he won 5 state championships. McLoughlin began attending Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle, Washington in 2004 where he was named All-area and team MVP as a freshman. Other early honors included being a Washington state ODP team member from 2003-05. In 2005 he joined the U-17 USA National Residency program in Bradenton, Florida where he would represent the US for the next 2 years. Over his 2 years with the National team he tallied 14 goals in 38 games and represented USA in the U-17 World Cup in South Korea where they placed 8th.

 

After his time with the U-17 National Team, Ellis attended the University of Washington where he tallied 5 goals and 7 assists his freshman year. After his freshman year at UW, Ellis was offered a professional contract with German team Hertha Berlin. During his stint in Germany from 2007-2010, Ellis made appearances for the U-20 and U-23 US National Teams. After playing in Berlin, Ellis headed back across the pond and played in the MLS for the San Jose Earthquakes where he tallied 3 goals and 3 assists in 2 seasons with the team.

 

After Ellis’ playing career ended he immediately took up coaching and began working for Coerver Coaching from 2012-2018 where he specified in technical and skills training.
