I was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma but moved to southern California at a few months old. I grew up spending my youth with a ball at my feet playing soccer in Orange County. When not playing in California I found myself playing in both England and Mexico. As a young adult my journey continued with the U20 National squad, UCLA Bruins under Sigi Schmidt, and professionally with UNAM Pumas in Mexico. After a series of injuries, I continued to play in the USL and CSL before finally retiring as a player.
I assumed my first head coaching job at 22 with Katella High School in Anaheim, CA and began my collegiate coaching career serving as an assistant at University of California, Irvine (UCI) Women's soccer program. After college, I returned to coaching for a men's club program as well as a high school team in northern California before relocating to Washington state. Once here I continued to evolve as a coach and began working with younger players as a trainer with Coerver Coaching NW for five years. I have coached at various clubs and programs throughout the state, most recently with Oly-Pen Force as the Force Academy Director and assistant to the men’s first team. I hold a USSF National ‘B’ coaching license and have coached soccer for over 20 years, with former students having gone on to play at both the collegiate and National levels.
As a coach, I strive to develop not only the individual player but the team as a whole. I want to develop a technically sound competitor that is willing to celebrate successes and view failure as a moment to learn. I look to develop players that can function in a community of players and strive to make their community better. Each individual learns and develops differently, just as a team is unique to its own season. I strive to bring out the best in a soccer player, a team and a community member as a whole. As a fan of the game I love watching Messi be Messi, listening to Ruud Gullit analyze the game, and supporting FC Barcelona fanatically.
