My name is Andy Fordyce and I was born and raised in Bellevue Washington. I attended Interlake High School where I was a 4-year varsity starter, Bellevue College where I played for a year, and Washington State University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and played on the club team for 3 years. Go Cougs!
My family has been in the Seattle area for generations and we are very proud residents of the pacific northwest. Personally, I am a proud Seattleite who has a deep love for local youth soccer as well as a deep passion to coach and stay involved in the game.
I played many sports throughout my childhood but I have always gravitated towards soccer from the age of 5. I first started playing for my school St. Louise as well as city recreational leagues and quickly developed a passion to compete and play the beautiful game. At the age of 10 I attended a tryout for Eastside FC and the rest was history. I went on to play at Eastside FC for 8 years winning 3 state championships and learning the ins and outs of what it means to play the Eastside way.
The passion that I have built through my time playing, coaching, and growing up around the game has left a huge imprint on me but, my coaching philosophy is simple. Players learn the best when engaged and when they are enjoying what they are doing. Building up players and allowing them the platform to play and experiment to find out who they are is ultimately the best environment a player can find. Keeping the environment fun but competitive and getting to know the kids and their families as more than just players is also vital to creating that deep passion and those deep bonds between players, parents, and coaches. A message I try to live out every time I step on the field.
Additionally, I always try to stay dedicated to furthering my development as a coach and I currently hold my USSF D License. I am scheduled to complete my C License by early 2023.
I am also an avid Arsenal FC supporter as well as a Seattle Sounders FC supporter and fan of all Seattle Sports.
I am very happy for my soccer journey to be coming full circle and I could not think of a better place to be than Eastside FC. I look forward to what the future brings here at the club and cannot wait to see everyone on the field.
Go Eastside!
