Boys U14 Red are collecting old cell phones and used inkjet cartridges as a fundraiser for KAT. Bring items to the bins labeled recycling located at Preston. With over 10 million cell phones retired each month, there should be plenty sitting in our houses! A great way to support the Club and the Environment - DID YOU KNOW... One cell phone can contaminate 35,000 gallons of water if it gets into landfill?? Let's turn in those cartridges and cell phones! Question? Contact Victoria Law

GoalKeeper Schedule Changes to Fall Schedule
The Fall Schedule will begin on August 30th - Monday and Wednesdays: Younger ages 6-7, Older ages 7-8pm.
Two Champions and Two Finalists!
EFC had 2 Champions at the Federal Way Blast Off Tournament! Congratulations to the Boys 99 Blue Team and the 99 Red Team on a great win. These teams were goal scoring machines - each having 19 goals in the tournament! The B11 Blue team was up 3-0, when the opposing team rallied to tie up the game 3-3. In the last 2 minutes EFC scored a final goal to secure their victory 4-3! Congrats on a strong showing in the U13 age group as well. The Boys U13 White and Blue teams were tournament finalists, both losing to a team they tied in bracket play. Keep up the good work!
EFC Boys 95 White In Brazil!
EFC Coach Fernando Barros, a native of Brazil, grew up playing soccer in Brazil. He is now sharing that experience with his U15 Boys team. Fernando also co-founded and sponsors a school in Sao Roque Brazil for 80 high-achieving, underprivileged kids. The Boys recently sponsored a WA visit by a team from Sao Roque and now it's our boys turn to travel to brazil. Follow their journey.... www.efcb95brazil.blogspot.com

7 EFC Players Named to ODP Regional Pool & 1 to Headed National Camp!
Congratulations to our EFC players identified as top players at Region IV ODP Camp. 7 EFC players were invited to attend Regional Pool Training this coming week in Ontario, CA. Region IV has some of the strongest soccer programs in the country and the competition at Regional Camp is very tough - which makes this an incredible individual honor for these players. Standout players from the Regional Pool will be invited to National Training Camp. Good luck to all our EFC players! Congratulations to Emily Cole's U14 White team and Seth Taylor's U17 White team for a great tournament win this weekend. Despite the heat, these teams performed well to take home the trophy. Congratulations !!
Beaverton Cup Champions!
Our BU11 99 Red team (Dan Strom) won the Beaverton Cup U11 Gold Bracket this past week in Portland with a perfect 5-0 record. The team won the Final in a PK shootout with Sergio Palomino making the last stop as Goalie and the last PK for victory. Congratulations Boys! GU13 Girls Beaverton Champions! Kelli Smith’s GU13 Red team won the Gold Bracket at Adidas Beaverton Cup this past weekend in Oregon. The team was undefeated the entire tournament, playing 2 Oregon and 2 Washington teams and finally winning the Finals 3-1 against Tualatin Metro 97 Rage.
Crossfire Challege Girls Champions!
Congratulations to Nancy Turner's GU11 White Team on their Championship Trophy at the Crossfire Challenge in the GU11 Silver bracket. Turner's girls won 6 straight games before beating Crossfire in the Finals! Way to go EFC Girls!

Crossfire Challenge Cup - 3 Champions!
EFC BU10 Dev White won their second tournament of the season by defeating Tynecastle 4 - 0 in the final. On their way to becoming champions, they scored 24 goals and only allowed 2 against them. Eastside FC Sweeps BU14 Gold & Silver divisions at the Nike Crossfire Challenge last weekend!! The Red boys beat Washington Rush (Evergreen) 2-1 and the White boys beat WPFC 3-2 to complete the BU14 sweep. The Silver finals matched EFC against the same WPFC team that beat them in a 1-0 state cup finals heartbreaker in April. Dramatically, match came down to a game saving header at the goal line as time ran out in regular time! The Boys 96 Red Team were also Champions, depsite the 2 broken bones suffered to their team. We hope the injured players heal quickly.

Congratulations to Michelle French's G94 Red Team on winning the tournament. Great Work to the EFC Girls! Congrats to the G95 white team and the Boys 97 White Team who were finalists in this tournament! Kent Cornucopia Cup Champions - Two Teams! Dan Bubar's G11 Blue Team won the U11A bracket at the Kent Cornucopia. They had an amazing weekend scoring 22 goals with only 2 goals against! Snohomish United Champion! Tom Turner's Uu13 White Team starts the season like the ended it - a championship! This time it was the Snohomish United Invitational - Congrats!

EFC Girls 93 Red Win at US Club Regionals!
Congratulations to Dan Strom's U17 Girls Red team who won at the US Club Soccer Regional Tournament. Great work girls! The Boys 95 Red team lost in the Finals of that same tournament. Go EFC!
Far West Regionals!
The Boys 94 Red, coached by Dan Strom lost in the Semi-Finals to the eventual Region IV Champ from Cal North. It was a great game that went into overtime. Great showing EFC! The Girls 96 Red team, coached by Chance Fry, lost in the quarters to the Hawaii state champion 0-1, but congratulations on a great year!

Girls 96 White President's Cup Finalist!
Emily Cole's G96 White team played in the Presidents Cup Region IV finals last Sunday. They played hard and represented EFC and WA well but fell to Cal South 2-0. During the tournament the beat CO 4-0, UT 5-0, Cal South wildcard 2-2 (kicks from the mark 2-1) and lost to Cal South twice both with a score of 0-2.

Congratulations to the EFC Teams who brought home the trophy from the Honda Sims Firecracker Tournament last weekend. Awesome job! Teams include EFC 95 Red, San Diego Surf, South Bay Force, and DMVC Sharks. Games are scheduled for Saturday 9am and 1pm and Sunday at 9am. EFC Referee Coordinator -An Amazing Volunteer!
Andrew Boyd, has served an amazing 6 years as the EFC Referee Coordinator, and he is stepping down. We certainly thank him for the endless hours he has put into this role - both on and off the field. This was a great volunteer contribution and we sincerly thank him for all the work you have put into EFC and our local soccer community. EFC Girls Win Encore Bracket at Vegas College Showcase!
EFC Girls 93 Red faced tough competition in the Encore bracket at the Vegas Showcase. The bracket contained 3 State Champions, 1 State Finalist and Regional Champion. The EFC girls came out on top despite the 40 mph wind gusts! To top it off, thanks to the more than 125 different College/University Coaches who came out to watch the girls play. Before the tournment this team secured a #1 ranking spot in WA State and #21 in the Nation (according to gotscoccer.com). These results should push them even higher in the national rankings. Great work girls, Dan and Frank!
Eastside has 2 State Champs and 1 State Finalist!
Congratulations to the Boys 94 Red and 93 White Teams who battled through overtime to win their state cup tournament! Dan Strom's EFC Boys 94 Team, played Crossfire once again in the finals and this time the game ended 2-2 in regulation. After 2 overtime periods, the game was tied at 3-3. EFC wins in pk's to earn a 4th State Championship in 5 years. Way to go boys! The Boys 93 White team was tied 1-1 after regulation against the Columbia Timbers. EFC scored the only goal in overtime, ending the game 2-1. This is a repeat Championship for Williams BU16 White Team. Awesome job! Stuart Lee's U18 boys lost in the finals, but leave EFC with an impressive record. They have won 3 State Championship titles and have been a finalist 6 times. That is an amazing accomplishment. We are proud of you! Congratulations Eastside!

EFC Boys 94 Red President's Day Tournament Champion!
Congratulations to Dan Strom's U15 Boys team who traveled to Arizona for the President's Day Tournament. The claimed a decisive victory, beating the Sereno South Boys 4-0 in the final round. EFC faced FC Frederick (MD) in the semifinals where they won 4-0, and New Mexico Strikers in the quarters (1-0). Only 2 goals were scored against them throughout the tournament. Congratulations! Tom Bialek's U13 boys attended the same tournament, where they advanced to the Semi-Final round losing to Sereno, the AZ State Champion and Regional Semi-Finalist. Great work boys!

Eastside had 7 teams competing in the Semi-Final Round of the GRFC 2010 Winter Classic Tournament! Congratulations to our 2 Tournament Champions: EFC Boys 99 Dev Red, coached by Dan Strom and Boys 96 Red, coached by Tom Bialek. The Boys 98 Red Team was a tournament Finalist and the Girls 97 Red, 95 White, 95 Red and the Boys 97 White were all Semi-Finalist. Great work to all those players!
EFC Girls 93 SURF Cup U16 Gold Champions!
The Girls EFC 93 Red team won the Surf Cup College Showcase U16 Gold division over Thanksgiving beating West Coast FC United 3-1, Voltage FC from Calgary 2-1 and drawing 0-0 with Toro Bravo, the Nebraska State Champion in the first round to win their group. In the semifinal the girls beat Utah’s State Champion, La Rocca, 2-0 and beat Legends FC (S. Cal team and # 7 in the region) 1-0 in the Final. The championship elevated the team into the top ten in the region in Got Soccer and they will try to build on this experience when they play in the Disney Showcase in Orlando in late December and early January. EFC Coach Tom Bunnell named Coach of the Year!
Tom Bunnell, EFC Goalkeeper and Issaquah HS Varsity Soccer Coach was named Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Congratulations Tom!
EFC Boys 94 Red Place 2nd in Far West Regional League!
Dan Strom's U15 Red Team competed in the final round FWRL Championship last weekend. They lost their first game to the eventual FWRL winner FC Chelsea. They beat Albion FC (San Diego) 2-1 and Aztecs (San Diego) 1-0 to claim 2nd place in the 14 team Region IV league. EFC finished with a 7-2 record. This 2nd place finish means they are the first runner up to assume a spot in the Far West Regional Tournament in June. If the FWRL winner also wins their state cup, our U15 Red Team would take the FWRL berth. Congratulations EFC!
Three Teams Crowned Champions at Starfire's 2009 US Club Soccer November Tournament!
Congratulations to our Girls U11, U12 and U13 Red Teams for taking home the Championship of the US Club Soccer tournament last weekend. Each team dominated in their bracket, depsite the weather conditions and ended up with the Trophy. The U13 Red Team played up in the U14 bracket outscoring their opponents 11-1 in bracket play! The Girls U13 White team earned a Semi-Final finish. Great work girls! Keep up the great work!

EFC Coach Tom Bunnell Named KingCo 4A Coach of the Year
Tom Bunnell was named the KingCo 4A Coach of the Year. This is Tom's first award as the 4A Coach of the Year, however, Tom was named the KingCo 3A Coach of the Year in 2004, 2006 and 2007. Tom and the IHS girls just earned about KingCo Champion Title, which makes the 5th for Tom. Congratulations Tom on these great accomplishments!
EFC Coach Tom Bunnell Hits Amazing Milestone!
Tom Bunnell, EFC Goalkeeping Coach and IHS Girls Varity Soccer Coach, hit an amazing milestone with his Issaquah Eagles. Last night Tom and the girls claimed the 4A League Title and posted his 100th victory with the Issy Girls program. Tom has been with IHS since 2004 and has earned some impressive credentials with the IHS Girls Program: 3 Time State Champ, 4 Time KingCo Champ, 3 time State Coach of the Year, 2007 Far West Regional Coach of the Year - just to name a few. Three Champions and Two Finalists
EFC has 3 teams who were champions in tournaments over Labor Day weekend. Congratulations to the Boys U10 Dev Team, Boys U11 Red and U16 Red for taking home the trophy at the Skagit Labor Day Cup. Two other teams played in the final round, one at the Skagit Cup and the other in the Labor Day Cup at Starfire. Congratulations to the Boys U11 Blue and Boys 16 White team. Great job - despite the crazy weather!
Girls 97 Red wins CA Nike Barca Tournament!
EFC 97 Red girls ventured down to San Bernardino, CA the weekend of August 15th and 16th to participate in the Nike Barca Cup. Competing in the U12 Gold flight the girls went undefeated in pool play, including 2 shutouts. In the final, EFC controlled play during the first half but couldn't find the net. In the second half EFC kept the pressure on and broke through with a goal that propelled them to a 3-0 victory in the final. It was a exceptional all around team effort that lead to the championship and was great way to end the tournament season.

Puma Pacific Coast Challenge Champion!
Eastside BU15 White is a tournament winner at the Puma Pacific Coast Challenge in the Copa Division. The team was in second place in points after pool play and then proceeded to win their first semi in the morning followed by a successful win against Mount Rainer Football Club in the afternoon. The final score was 1 - 2 with the win going to the visiting EFC BU15 White team coached by Danny Jackson.
SeaTac Cup - Four EFC Champions!
Congratulations to Danny Huet's B11 White and B13 White for a great weekend of soccer. Both teams were crowned Tournament Champion at the SeaTac Cup! Ryan Dortch's U14 Girls also took home the tournament trophy! GO EFC! The Girls Dev Blue Team was our 4th Champion - Congratulations Girls!
Impressive Tournament Season for BU13 White! Danny Huet's B96 White team won all 3 of the tournaments they entered this summer. The were Champions at the NorthWest Cup in Spokane, The Crossfire Challegene and the SeaTac Cup. The last 2 tournaments were shutouts. These boys are off to an amazing season. Keep up the good work boys!
Mt. Hood Challenge Success!
Girls 97 White played some great soccer in Oregon to earn the Consolation Champion in the Tourament. The Girls 98 White team also had success in Oregon with a Finalist Finish.
Girl Devs Win at BigFoot Tourney!
Eastside's girls White Dev team played the Dev Blue team in the final at the Snohomish BogFoot Tournament. The game ended 2-2 in regulation and the White Team won in PK's! Great work EFC Girls!
Girls 94 White Champions at Puma Rimland Pacific Tournament!
Congratulations to Dan Redwine's GU15 White Team on a great tournament win in Bellingham. The girls played through a tough bracket to advance to the Semi Finals where they won 3-2. They continued to play great soccer winning 3-1 in the Final Game. Tom Tuner's Girls U12 White Team were Finalists at Rimland. They had a great tournament and lost a close game in the Finals. GO EFC!

EFC Has 6 Players to Reach the Regional Level in ODP
Congratulations to the following players who have advanced to the Regional Pool in the Region IV Olympic Development Program (ODP). These players attended Regional Camp, along with players from 14 other states, to compete for a spot in the Regional Pool. In total EFC had 15 players invited to Regional Camp with these 6 held over. Girls 95 White Champions at Skagit River Cup!
Ryan Dortch's U14 White team won the Skagit River Cup! In the final they played a team they lost 0-1 in bracket play. The game was tied 1-1 forcing a shoot out and the EFC girls came away with the trophy! The Girls Development Red and White teams played U11 in this tournament. The White Team advanced to the Semi-Finals and the Red Team finished as a Finalist. Great work EFC Girls!
Two Champions Crowned at Nike Lake Oswego Cup!
Congratulations to Emily Cole's 93 White and 96 White Teams! Both were Champions at this Portland Tournament. The 93's took the final game to overtime and won 4-3 in pk's. Four Champions at Nike Crossfire Challenge!
Congratulations to the Boys 94 Red, 93 White, 96 White and 98 White Teams! All were Champions at the Crossfire Challenge. The 94 Boys averaged more than 4 goals each game! The 93 Boys had only one goal scored on them through the tournament. The 98 White team won their semi final round in pk's and went on to win the final game 1-0! The 96 White team won the final in pk's! GO EFC! Boys 94 White and Boys Dev White earned spots in the Finals and 3 Teams were Semi Finalists (Boys 96 Red, Boys 97 White, and Boys Dev Red.) Congratulations to all!
B92 Beaverton Cup Finalist!
Congratulations to our EFC's Boys 92 Red team coached by Samir Bjelanovic for advancing to the Final Round at the Beaverton Cup U17/U18 Gold Bracket. Congratulations!

FarWest Regionals!
Eastside sent 5 teams to FarWest Regionals in Lancaster, CA. 3 teams advanced to the Quarterfinal Round. Congratulations to these quarterfinalists: Girls 96 Red, coached by Chance Fry and Tom Bunnell Boys 91 Red, coached by Stuart Lee The Boys 94 Red Team were Regional Semi Finalists, coached by Dan Strom, and defeated the Cal North State Champ 2-0 in the Quarterfinals to secure their spot in the Semis. EFC Boys 94 Red lost in the Semi's to the Arizona State Champion. Congratulations to all EFC teams who represented the State of Washington at Far West Regionals - a great accomplishment!

EFC Offering Sibling Discounts!
EFC will provide a sibling discount to all families with more than one registered player. The EFC Board approved a $50 discount off our registration annual fee for the second child within a family. If you have 3 or more registered players in the family the discount will double to $100 for those players. EFC is dedicated to families and we thank you for bringing your family to ours.
